Salary: Dependent on experience

Working hours: Day Shift, Monday - Friday

Location: Shepshed, Leicestershire

 

VH Talent is delighted to be working in partnership with our client, a leading engineering organisation to appoint a Senior HSE Advisor. This role is a standalone position, working closely with the Senior Leadership team.

 

The Senior HSE Advisor will develop, implement and manage effective HSE programs/systems onsite, whilst driving all HSE activities forward. Ensuring compliance with government guidelines and safety standards.

The Senior HSE Advisor Role:

  • Ensuring all Health, Safety and Environmental policies are maintained and updated where needed and in line with current legislations and guidelines. Completing regular onsite audits and recording accurately
  • Assist with reducing workplace injuries and environmental incidents by carrying out regular audits
  • Analysing of incidents, near miss and hazard reporting and investigation in conjunction with the managers to identify root causes and recommend improvements
  • Analysis and implementing improvements whilst working collaboratively with Operational Teams to ensure Environmental, Health and Safety standards and training are met/delivered to the wider teams
  • Complete onsite inspections and orchestrate, monitor and manage onsite audits
  • Manage Training Programs for employees for compliance training
  • Creating a proactive EHS culture within the business
  • Completing risk assessments and environmental impact assessments along with ensuring the environmental register is maintained
  • Ensure fully aware of changes, new legislations, standards and good practices
  • Achieve Department goals along with supporting wider business goals

 

You’ll Need:

  • Previous experience of operating within a manufacturing or engineering environment is advantageous
  • NEBOSH General Certificate in Occupational Health & Safety
  • Understand relevant legislation, regulations and standards within HSE
  • Able to collate data and deliver reports
  • Present to the Senior Leadership Teams outlining areas for Continuous Improvement within a HSE capacity
  • Highly organised, has attention to detail and the ability to identify ‘problem areas’ and provide solutions
  • Able to work independently, adopt a proactive approach and achieve departmental deadlines
  • Good communications skills with the ability to provide insights, advice and roll out new processes to small and large teams
  • Proficient in Microsoft packages, Word, Excel, Powerpoint and Outlook
