Title: Site Accountant
Salary: £45,000 per annum
Working Hours: Monday – Friday, Day Shift
Location: Loughborough, Leicestershire

You’ll play a key role in supporting the Finance Team, delivering insightful analysis and financial reporting to the wider business, while working closely with a collaborative and forward-thinking team. Advanced MS Excel skills are essential, as Excel is central to many of our financial processes, and experience in financial forecasting and modelling would be highly beneficial.

Quick snapshot of the Site Accountant Role:
- Review and interpret financial data, producing clear and insightful reports.
- Maintain compliance with relevant accounting frameworks and regulatory standards, including GAAP, IFRS, and SOX.
- Analyse and forecast trends across sales, costs, and other key operational drivers to support effective financial planning and business decision-making.
- Contribute to the monthly close cycle through the preparation of journal entries, completion of reconciliations, and detailed review of general ledger accounts to ensure accuracy and integrity of financial data.
- Work closely with the Financial Controller to strengthen internal controls, enhance business processes, and ensure ongoing compliance with company policies and SOX requirements.
- Deliver month-end reporting activities in accordance with divisional, group, and corporate deadlines.
- Assist with rolling forecasts, annual budgets, weekly flash reporting, bridge analysis, P&L reviews, WIN scorecard reporting, and wider management reporting requirements.
- Provide additional financial and operational support across the team as required.
You’ll Need:
- ACCA / CIMA / ACA - Part-qualified Accountant with ongoing studies
- Strong capability in Excel, with experience in developing and working with financial forecasting models considered a plus.
- Good working knowledge of financial reporting, accounting practices, and control frameworks, with exposure to compliance standards such as US GAAP and International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
- Strong understanding of core accounting principles, including accruals, prepayments, fixed assets and depreciation, as well as a working knowledge of VAT, taxation fundamentals, and inter-company accounting processes.
- Demonstrated experience in producing management accounts, preparing journals, and completing balance sheet reconciliations, with additional exposure to budgeting, forecasting, and financial variance analysis.
- Broad experience across financial analysis, reporting, and accounting, built through roles of increasing complexity and responsibility.
- Well-organised, has attention to detail and able to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Demonstrates sound judgement and analytical ability, with confidence in interpreting financial data and resolving issues independently.
- Effective communicator with strong interpersonal skills, able to present financial concepts clearly to both finance and non-finance stakeholders.
- Competent in Microsoft Office tools and familiar with working with data systems or databases. With excellent Excel experience (pivot tables, VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, formulas)
